Cats on Vacation

My sister decided to take the cats on vacation to visit her family in SC. They will be away until after the New Year. I'm home alone and don't know what to do with myself. The cats aren't too much of a bother. All they did when they were here was eat, drink, poop, sleep, play and fight. They would also have their moments when they would rub up against me or even follow me into the bathroom. What bothered me was their tendency to get in the sink or in the tub. I'll probably miss them just a little.

Enough is Enough

I love animals, but there is a limit. My sister has two cats at home. Now, she has adopted an outside cat she feeds and even bought a bed for him to sleep on the porch. The problem I have with this is, there are cats coming from all over looking for food. I even saw about 5 kittens on the front porch one day while I was leaving to go to work. It's beginning to get out of hand. The topper for this was when I came home one evening and saw a possum on the porch. I was so fueled up. This is just ridiculous...and it's her obsession that's gone MAD!

Dog, Man's Best Friend!

I have a friend who mentioned to me he'd rather have a dog for a lifelong friend. I was a little puzzled, until he explained. He continued by saying, "If I lock my wife and dog in my trunk for a few days and open up the trunk, my dog will still be happy to see me." Of course he chuckled by himself. Then said, "That was a joke." Yes, it was a joke, but he really meant it. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth shall speak and he said it all in a "nutshell". It didn't take me long to ponder on that one because he was telling the truth. What man holds against each other, animals forget immediately. Maybe that's why some people treat their animals better than family.

Cat Language!

Cat, cats, cats are like babies in a sense. I have been cat sitting for over two months now and I've learned a lot. They really have a way of communication so you can understand their language. They tell you what their needs and desires are without you having to figure it out. Trust me, when they really want your attention, they can be destructive if you don't pay attention in the beginning. It's amazing to see them go through the same emotions we do and act out.
The two cats I'm keeping for my sister will kick their food dish to the other side of their eating area if they do not want anymore of what was given to them. They may even knock over their water if I don't respond in a timely manner. If they feel the litter box is too full, they will meow and lay next to it until I come and clean it. It's a good thing in a sense. I tell you, I have a greater appreciation for cats.

Animals Sense Your Feelings!

Do you know that animals react according to your vibe they pick up. If you know someone who was ever attacked by an animal, it was because they either sensed fear or felt threatened by their presence. There are some animals you should look directly in the eye and others you don't. I was leaving a clients home and a deer was resting on his lawn. Without looking it directly in the eyes I moved close. Do you know it began to wag its tail and flex its ears. That was a sign of feeling comfortable in my presence. We did take a picture.

Animals desire affection just like people. We are all apart of God's creation and although they don't talk, animals have their own language they use to communicate. Cats will rub on you and purr when they want to be massaged. Dogs will wag their tail. They will also show you when they are hungry, upset or disappointed, etc. Animals go through the same emotions we do. So, pay attention to their emotions. I mean some people take it too far with the kissing their pets....not to that extreme. Some people treat their pets better than other people. How sad!

I've been cat sitting for two weeks now. They really make a mess of the place. They are like babies/children; eat, sleep, throw-up and rearrange our things. They jump up on the furniture, fight one minute and make up the next. In all this, we serve them. We supply their every need. We feed them, clean their litter box (poop) and straighten everything they mess up in the house. Certain things, we just are not able to lay around because they will get hold of them, especially keys. We buy all kinds of toys, beds, ect. and they rarely play with their toys and use the bed designed for them to sleep in. They play with our things and sleep in our bed, on our sofa or in our chairs. They live a great life without responsibility!
