Pets With Attitude!

Do your pets let you know when they are upset? Well, my sister has two cats and of course when she goes away, I'm the "mama"! She has them spoiled so they expect me to treat them the same way. Of course that's out of the question. I definitely take care of them, but it gets ridiculous. I happen to go out and when I returned, not only were their food dishes moved, but I left my papers and a bottled drink on the desk that were now on the floor. I'm not sure why the attitude, but I don't communicate with them like she does.

Are your pets spoiled?

Just like children, pets can be "spoiled". First of all, you bring them into your house. Then, you become their servant without them even asking you to do anything. You know all their needs and make sure they have everything. They don't pay rent, take out the garbage, wash dishes....none of these things. They eat, sleep, take a dump (some dogs will protect you), but other than that if not trained, they can really make a mess of the place and don't have to clean it up....I heard someone say, "I wish I could trade places because they get away with a lot"!

My sister's cats, scratch on her door when they want to get in her room. Pick a place to sleep anywhere in the house other than the sleeping beds she bought for them. They've scratched her, bit her and still live in the house. They also pick over their food. There's more, but I guess you've got the picture.

Your Pets Learn From You!

Pets are so affectionate! Well, let me rephrase this. I believe they take on the character of their owner. Depending on how you train them will determine their response to you and other people.
Many amaze me with what they do. I had a dog we had to trap inside the backyard by placing stones around the fence to prevent him from digging under to get out. We would also climb over the fence so he wouldn't run out. Well, one day we heard the "ching, ching, ching" sound coming from the back yard to find that he was climbing the fence to get back in. He learned it from us.

Do you have any pets that behave like people? My sister has two cats, a male and female that have like a love-hate relationship. One minute they take turns licking each other. The next minute one will bite the other and a fight breaks out. They chase each other through the house, knocking stuff off the tables. Then there are moments when they just seem like they don't care to be bothered with one another. They do have special moments when they lay up under each other and fall asleep. If that isn't like real people, minus verbal conversation, I don't know what is.
